Join us early evening on Friday 23rd October at the Cellar Door for Tasting & Tales: The Hortense Mancini Edition, where history meets wine. Discover the dazzling life of the Duchess who made conversation, courage, and Champagne the hallmarks of Restoration England, and explore how her friendship with Charles de Saint‑Évremond, our namesake, shaped the very culture of wine appreciation.
Accompanied by two glasses of our Classic Cuvée wine, this experience pairs storytelling with tasting; inviting you to savour not just the wine, but the wit, rebellion, and elegance that defined Hortense’s world. It’s a celebration of freedom, friendship and wine that inspires Domaine Evremond to this day.
This experience will start at 6pm and run for approximately 90 minutes.

By train:
The estate is just one hour by train from London St Pancras (via Ashford) or there are direct trains from London Bridge or Charing Cross. Our nearest station is Chilham or we are a 20-minute drive from Ashford (fast train to London). There is a taxi rank at Ashford station, however, there is no taxi rank at Chilham station and taxis should therefore be booked in advance (5-minute drive). Please contact our team for details of local taxi companies.
By foot or bicycle:
We are located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, not far from the Pilgrims’ Way. Guests can arrive by foot (there is a footpath that runs through the estate) or by bicycle. Please note that the walk from Chilham village is approximately 30 minutes and along a countryside footpath. There is space to park bikes on site.

What are your opening hours?
The cellar door is open Wednesday to Sunday. In summer (April to September) we are open from 11:00 - 18:30, in winter (October to March) we are open 10:30 - 17:30.
Are bookings mandatory?
Yes, all our visitor experiences must be booked in advance. Bookings can be made via the website. However, guests can also taste first edition Domaine Evremond Classic Cuvée on the panoramic terrace on a first-come, first-served basis, weather-permitting.
Are pets allowed on site?
Dogs are not permitted on estate tours or in the cellar door, but well behaved dogs are most welcome on the terrace for walk-ins. We ask that you keep them on a lead and clear up after them.
Need to make a change or cancel your booking?
We do not offer refunds on bookings, but if you are unable to attend a tour or tasting, your booking can be changed for the same activity on a different day, subject to availability. Notice must be given 72 hours in advance to qualify for an exchange, and all exchanges are at the discretion of Domaine Evremond.
Can I leave my car overnight?
No, cars cannot be left on site overnight.
When should I arrive for my experience?
We ask that you arrive 5 – 10 minutes before your allocated start time.
Do you have a shop at your estate?
Yes – wine can be purchased to take home from the cellar door, along with a special selection of Domaine Evremond merchandise.
Can visitors buy something to eat on-site?
Beyond our "Flavours of Kent" food pairing experience, we also currently offer light bites such as olives, cheese crackers and crisps to buy on-site. For something more substantial, our team will be able to advise on local restaurants and pubs that serve hot food.
Can I book a table on your terrace?
Due to the unpredictable British weather, we do not take bookings for our outdoor tables. These tables are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Can I walk from Chilham station?
Yes, the winery is a 30-minute walk from the station. Chilham is just one hour by train from London St Pancras (via Ashford) or there are direct trains from London Bridge or Charing Cross.
Can I bring a picnic?
Guests are welcome to bring picnics; however, picnics are not permitted to be eaten on the terrace. Guests are welcome to enjoy their picnics in one of our surrounding wildflower meadows or amongst the vines. Our hosts will happily point you in the right direction for this.
Is there accommodation at the vineyard?
We do not have accommodation on the Domaine Evremond estate but there are plenty of good options locally, including in the village of Chilham itself.
What do I do if I have a first aid emergency whilst visiting?
All our Cellar Door hosts are basic first-aid trained and will support you if you have any issues. Please ask any member of staff to direct you to the nearest first-aider in the event of an emergency.
